Experience

Independently Produced

I began independently producing work in Minneapolis in 2018, working with some of the Twin Cities' finest actors on plays that felt urgent, interesting, and challenging to me as a director. Many of these productions were produced in non-traditional spaces (a barn in Wisconsin, a 100 year old mansion in Minneapolis...) and allowed me to flex my skills as a director and theatermaker.

Wayzata Theatre

Since 2015, I have served as an associate director for Wayzata High School's theatre department. We produce six productions over the course of each school year in three theater spaces, ranging from large scale musical theatre to intimate black box productions. Our work is driven by a commitment to professional-quality productions created through exemplary education-based processes, empowering student actors to develop agency over their work and empathy for the world around them.

7th House Theater

From 2013 until 2017, I was a founding member of 7th House Theater, an actor-driven collaborative theatre company that produced musical theatre that pushed the limits of storytelling and how performers and audiences connect across the work. We produced three original musicals over three years in the Dowling Studio at the Guthrie Theater as well as bold reimaginings of existing musicals and contemporary plays.

Assistant Director

I was lucky enough to assist Peter Rothstein on two productions right out of college. Both productions were produced by Theatre Latte Da in partnership with the Hennepin Theatre Trust and performed at the historic Pantages Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. The opportunity to assist Peter on these productions taught me so much about the process of directing and producing, from the earliest of production meetings to the closing night performance.
